Swift police action led to the arrest of a man accused of staging a bold daylight robbery at the Roy Smith Shop in Ealing Grove, Christ Church.

The incident occurred on May 22, around midday, when the suspect — who had reportedly been seen loitering outside the premises — seized the opportunity to strike once the shop was momentarily empty. Armed with a weapon, he confronted the lone cashier on duty.

The shaken cashier, who requested her name be withheld, described a terrifying experience that left her unable to sleep. Despite the trauma, she showed up for work the very next morning.

In a significant development, police apprehended the suspect early this morning. Authorities confirmed that the man had only recently been released from prison, having served time for a similar offence just two weeks ago.
