Days With Multiple Attacks Resulting in Homicides

While updating the Barbados Homicide Database recently, I noticed that November 19th now has two fatal shootings recorded a few hours apart (President Kennedy Drive and Station Hill). That led me to take a closer look at the data to see how often we’ve had days where more than one person was attacked that ultimately resulted in a homicide, whether the deaths occurred the same day or later.

(SIDE NOTE: Please look at the methodology page of the Barbados Homicide website to learn more about the methodology behind my database).

A quick SQL query pulled out all the dates (where date information was available) from the Barbados Homicide Database where more than one victim was attacked and later died. Here’s the summary:

Date (YYYY-MM-DD)Number of Victims
2015-11-302
2019-02-162
2019-02-272
2019-03-172
2019-11-303
2020-05-143
2020-12-292
2022-06-292
2022-08-012
2022-08-302
2022-10-213
2022-11-062
2024-01-232
2024-06-052
2024-06-212
2024-06-292
2024-07-022
2024-09-143
2025-04-012
2025-11-082
2025-11-192

One important clarification: The Barbados Homicide Database uses the date of the attack, not the date of death. For example, on November 8th two people were shot (Weston, St. James). One died the same day, while the other passed away a few days later. Both entries still appear under November 8th because that’s the date the violent incident occurred.

Looking at the list, days with multiple fatal attacks are not common, but they do happen occasionally. The highest counts appear on a few dates with three victims attacked (2019-11-30, 2020-05-14, 2022-10-21, and 2024-09-14). Most others saw two victims attacked on the same day.

As always, please remember that my figures are not official; they’re compiled from publicly available sources (which means they may be understated), mainly mainstream media reports and updates posted by the Barbados Police Service on Facebook.
