Barbados has recorded at least 8 homicides from the beginning to the end of November. For the year so far, i.e., January 1 to November 30, the island has had at least 47 homicides.

The map in Image 1 illustrates the distribution of homicides across Barbados between January and November, with at least 47 cases recorded. St. Michael had the highest count, followed by Christ Church and St. Philip and St. James with 26, 9, 5 and 5 homicides respectively. St. Lucy and St. Thomas each recorded 1. The remaining parishes—St. Peter, St. Andrew, St. Joseph, St. John, and St. George— recorded no homicides at the time of this article that I am aware of.

Chart 1 shows the number of homicides in Barbados between the months of January and November. June recorded nine homicides, making it the deadliest month of the year so far. November had 8, followed by January with 7.

Chart 2 displays the distribution of homicides across the parishes of Barbados January and November. St. Michael had the highest number of homicides, with 26 recorded. This was followed by Christ Church, which recorded 9 homicides and St. Philip and St. James which recorded 5 each.

Chart 3 categorizes and displays the methods used in homicides across Barbados between January and November. Shooting-related incidents dominate, accounting for 33 cases, making firearms the most prevalent weapon in violent crimes for the year. Blade/Edge-related weapons, such as knives or machetes, were the second most common, with 9 cases. Other methods (fighting/beating/et cetera) accounted for 2 cases.

Chart 4 categorizes and displays the age group of homicide victims in Barbados from January to November. The age group of 25 to 34 stands out with the highest number of victims, with 18 homicides for the year so far. The youngest victim was 13 years old, while the eldest was 63 years old. No age data was available for five victims.

Chart 5 reveals a significant gender disparity in homicide victims in Barbados January and November. 46 males lost their lives compared to 1 female.

Chart 6 categorizes and displays the timing of homicides in Barbados January and November. The majority of the homicides (30) occurred during the workweek, compared to 17 on the weekend. Note: I define the workweek as Monday to Thursday.

Chart 7 categorizes homicides in Barbados between January and November by day of the week. The majority occurred on Tuesday (9), followed by Sunday (8). Monday, Wednesday and Thursday each recorded 7 homicides.

Chart 8 categorizes the number of homicides in Barbados between January and November 2025, broken down by specific time slots. Most homicides occurred during the 8 PM to 12 AM time slot (22 homicides).
