Police are investigating a burglary at the home of a 99-year-old woman in Christ Church. A group of men broke into her house during last night (June 24th) and stole a container with an undisclosed sum of money. Thankfully, no one was harmed.
The elderly resident, Ms. Holder, is a well-known former newspaper vendor who has reportedly been targeted before. The Barbados Association of Retired Persons (BARP) condemned the crime, calling it “an attack not only on a vulnerable member of our community but on the values of respect and protection that should define our society.” They urged swift action by law enforcement and community leaders.
