About the Barbados Crime Blog

Welcome to the Barbados Crime Blog, a resource for news and information regarding violent crime and incidents across the island. Managed by Amit Uttamchandani, this site serves as a tool for tracking criminal activity and helps to provide the public with a clearer picture of safety trends in our communities.

The Blog is built around three primary pillars of information:

Recent Incident Updates: We provide regular reports on active investigations and criminal events, ranging from shootings and stabbings to armed robberies and unnatural deaths in parishes such as St. Michael, St. Philip, St. George, and Christ Church.

The Barbados Homicide Database: This extensive resource covers over a decade (2014–2025) and currently documents 400+ homicides. The database the victim’s age, the parish of the incident, and the day of the week the crime occurred.

In-Depth Crime Analysis: By utilizing long-term data, we produce monthly homicide analysis posts and statistical breakdowns. This allows us to ask and answer questions about crime patterns that only a decade of data can reveal, such as the average age of victims or geographic shifts in violence.

Transparency and Data:

It is important for our readers to know that the data and statistics presented on this site are unofficial. All information is compiled, categorized, and posted based on reports found in mainstream media. This blog acts as an independent repository to help researchers and the public find and visualize data that might otherwise be scattered across various news cycles.

Community Safety:

We advocate for the principle: “If You See Something, Say Something!”. To support public safety, we maintain the following emergency contact information for the authorities:

Barbados Police Service Emergency: 211

Barbados Crime Stoppers: 1 800-8477
