Minibus Operators on Edge After Attempted Armed Robbery in St. Philip

January 23rd

Minibus and route taxi operators are on high alert following an attempted armed robbery in Lynch’s, St. Philip. The incident occurred around 6:30 p.m. when an armed man boarded a minibus to Bayfield, demanding money and threatening to kill passengers. The quick-thinking conductor foiled the robbery by exiting the bus and fleeing in a passing car, prompting the gunman to leave. Anwar Nana, Chairman of the Association of Public Transport Operators, warns that such incidents are increasing, leading many PSV operators to avoid working after dark.
